Why Purify the Mind?
People often think of detoxing the body but the mind often can be clogged up. Purifying the Mind will create more mental space, reduce mental business and free you from negative emotional states which are impacting your relationships particularly the one with yourself.
Thought patterns that repeat are inner self talk narratives about something, usually a frustration, something we feel we must have but don’t (or vice verca). Sometimes we repetitively have feelings which are very uncomfortable but have no words. This is often the result of impressions in early childhood. What’s happening is that a past event that effected us and wasn’t fully resolved at the time is showing up in the present as certain feelings / behaviours which keep repeating. We often think of memories as pictures with feelings but a narrative that repeats is a form of memory showing up in the present.
What Problem Does it Solve?
A pattern of behaviour that is reactive and compulsive. A repeating action, thought or feeling.
Intrusive / recurring painful memories (heartbreak / trauma) or vivid meaningful memories
Inner conflicts (polarisation) where two parts operate simultaneously ie pulling in different directions or arguing with yourself
Benefits
Better quality of life as dwelling on the past consumes your attention. More able to focus on creative endeavours. Less stressful way of being so less likely to get ill. Better relationships as often negativity can colour the way you relate to others making you less affable. More able to cope with adversity because the deconditioning of the mind leads to a higher threshold for experiences to ‘affect you.’ More relaxed.
Who is this for?
Those with inner conflict. Feel torn (riven).
A pattern of behaviour (feeling, narrative, action / non action) that is extreme, reactive (compulsive)
People who feel the Dr has not given them enough of an understanding of a health complaint (just given a label.) This relates to a breakthrough in the 1980’s of mind/body medicine.
People who have suffered heartbreak / bereavment and are struggling to move on.
People with intrusive memories which make them feel anxious / disturbed
What is Done?
A number of processes are used that work synergistically. Parts Integration (Internal Family systems) EFT, BWRT, kinesiology and Meta-Health.
Parts integration.
Sometimes we have inner conflicts. Decision making when the consequences are important can be an example. Arguing with yourself can be draining. This polarisation leads to a lot of tension and disharmony. Parts integration takes the view that every behaviour has a positive intention and that we want all aspects of our being co-operating with each other. Each part is like a sub-personality. It is a collection of memories, beliefs, sensations, images which make up a felt sense of identity.
When very painful (usually but not always from childhood) experiences aren’t properly metabolised the bio-system develops a way of sequestering off the unprocessed energy. From this experience a coping mechanism developed to protect it / you from the emotional pain. For example someone who feels worthless maybe have delusions of grandeur.
They are two sides of the same coin. Only working with one aspect can sometimes lead to the problem recreating itself. You essentially start to dialogue with these parts, from this emerges an awareness of how different behaviours are connected, what there role is and this in turn allows certain negative beliefs and painful feelings to be processed. The extreme behaviour softens and starts co-operating with the authentic self as invariably there are qualities within the problem behaviour that can be re-purposed. This integration leads to harmony.
Streaming
The person is given a chance to unravel / stream their narrative. This allows for a checking of the coherence of the thinking. Any non-sense is made explicit, challenged, old thinking then updates and there is the emergence of a new understanding. This can be seen as university for the SELF. Certain processes allow the dissolving of old neural nets, the letting go of stuck feelings and the emergence of a new awareness leading to a change in the behaviour.
Structure of Work.
Basic clearing work to start with. Are there any vivid, charged, recurring memories. One can get immediate relief from clearing these. They need clearing because they are reservoirs of unprocessed emotions which contaminate the present
if no memories are to be worked on or once any memories are cleared then a map is formed of a constellation. The body intelligence will reveal how many inter-related ‘parts’ there are in the constellation to be worked on and what they are. Shyness, withdrawal, neediness, doubting, fearing confrontation, sadness.
Not all ‘parts’ are equal. If you have very low self esteem this can lead to being over sensitive to remarks etc. If the self esteem improves the sensitivity will reduce as you stop caring so much what others think.
The body will determine where to start to gain the most leverage. Here some streaming is done. This helps me understand your situation and is a learning for the client as limiting beliefs are flushed out and worked through. This is cathartic for the client
The cyber-kinetics allows a measuring to be done (this has to be demonstated) but essentially we can both see the vitality return as progress is made.
The initial engagement is 12 sessions done over 3-6 months. Each session is 2.5/3 hours long. At the end one can ‘measure’ with cyberk, a review is done and the client can continue if so desire. Some will want to continue until the body indicates the work is complete
A Word on these Repeating Mental Cycles
The Past is Condensed and lives on in the Present and Conditions Your Future
These past incomplete mind cycles often effect our relationships, be they personal or work related. The key relationship for all of us is with ourselves. If you are not happy in your skin this seeps into every area of your life. A cycle can be a thwarted desire from infancy. Often we react (automatic) not respond (conscious choice) thereby activating the flight/fight stress mode which is bad for health over the long term
Awareness is Key
Without awareness there is no choice. Before the discovery of DNA there was no way that any activity could alter how it worked (gene expression). Now with this knowledge the door has opened to gene editing. Through dialogue and focused questioning the SELF is made to undergo learning. New connections are made, realizations made, limiting beliefs challenged, the net result is that a new awareness develops. This in turn allows these past cycles to be completed, space opens up in the mind as the compulsive inner self talk becomes quieter. This allows you to focus and concentrate more easily which in turn allows more creativity and productivity.
When a Cycle Doesn’t Complete it Repeats
The repetition of inner dialogue is a form of memory. The pattern (repeating sequence) will continue until you develop a new understanding. This updating completes the cycle, the intensity and frequency of the negative emotions become less prevalent, your behaviour is more balanced & in turn your relationships improve which opens up new opportunities and options (friendships made, offers made to you etc.) As you start to love and accept yourself more you become more enthusiastic, motivated, inspired, heart centred and essentially life becomes more fun!
Some examples of changes that can be experienced.
Speaking in a softer way rather than a loud, strained way.
Slowing down – less hurried / frantic
Compulsive inner chatter about certain unfulfilled desires becomes silent
Anxiety – less vigilance, constant checking, social fear, hypochondria
More self-esteem – feeling more worthy – less need for external validation
Intrusive memories – dissolution so no longer plaguing you.
With Conflict There is a Net Loss of Energy
The bio/psycho/energetic system looks to conserve energy. When two motivations are opposed it is distressing and draining. Likewise as compulsions turn to choices and the attention is liberated from the fixation, energy is conserved. You choose rather than IT (incomplete cycle) chooses. The probability of joy infusing your being increases.
Conclusion
Humans have this remarkable capacity to Reflect on itself. ‘You know that you Know.’ The reason these cycles keep repeating is because the ‘learnings’ haven’t been made. Every time the cycle repeats there is an opportunity for new understanding to be grasped – insight. More often than not the consciousness doesn’t get the learning. Its a bit like the fish that doesn’t know the water it swims in. Likewise, the world can seem a certain way, so much so that recognising it’s a mental construct eludes us. If one does not get the learning the cycle continues i.e. gets triggered and keeps repeating. Sometimes certain situations and people are drawn to us to give us the opportunity for a new learning. Angels can come in disguises.
EFT is used during this unravelling as this releases psychic tension and as some beliefs are anchored by strong emotions the tapping is invaluable in loosening all of this. Try changing someones thinking when they are boiling with rage? When the anger is processed new perspectives are more likely to emerge.
